Scots rocker Brian Connolly once had everything going for him as the dashing lead singer of chart topping glam rock band The Sweet but still died penniless and struggling to make ends meet. The group were highly successful during the 1970s, performing to crowds across the globe and achieving millionaire status at the height of their fame after 39 worldwide hits and 13 top 20 singles in the UK, including the number one smash Blockbuster.
The band's guitarist Andy Scott previously said: "A lot of money went through the bank accounts during that period. We moved into the millionaire status." Glaswegian born singer Brian was famed for his charismatic stage presence and his undeniably talented vocals.
