A rare winner’s medal from Motherwell’s first Scottish Cup triumph in 1952, will be one of the star attractions in a specialist sporting auction in Glasgow later this month. ‌

The historic medal, which was awarded to Motherwell goalkeeping great, John ‘Johnny’ Johnston, is expected to fetch between £3000 and £5000, when it goes to auction in McTear’s Sporting Medals, Jerseys & Memorabilia sale on September 11. ‌

The lot will also include Johnston’s runners-up medal from the previous season. ‌
