President Donald Trump said on Saturday night that he plans to issue an executive order to require voter identification for all elections in the United States.

"Voter I.D. Must Be Part of Every Single Vote. NO EXCEPTIONS! I Will Be Doing An Executive Order To That End!!!" Trump wrote in in part in a post on Truth Social.

Trump did not divulge specifics or timing about the executive order. ABC News has reached out to the White House for comment.

The president also reiterated that he'll restrict mail-in voting except for people who are "very ill" and the "far away military."
