A council is ‘incredibly frustrated’ as tennis courts and a nature reserve fall victim to repeated acts of vandalism . Benches in Pauline’s Swamp Nature Reserve in Burwell were set on fire last Monday (August 25), but the fire was put out by members of the public.

A lock to Burwell tennis courts was also ‘damaged beyond repair’ over the bank holiday weekend. Burwell Parish Council, which oversees the tennis courts and nature reserve, has said it finds it “incredibly frustrating” that these areas are continually vandalised.

Clerk for the parish council said: “One of the benches was set alight at Pauline’s Swamp Nature reserve on the night of August 25. Although relatively minimal damage, the bench is now unusable.

“We are thankful for vigilant members of the public letting us know
