HOT SPRINGS — The “dog days” of summer may be history, but Arkansas has plenty of hot days ahead before fall arrives.

Night fishing on The Natural State’s large reservoirs can be an exciting way to beat the heat and experience its lakes in a whole new way, according to a news release from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

However, nighttime angling presents some challenges — visibility is reduced, hazards may be hidden and even experienced anglers can find themselves in precarious situations after dark. But if everyone keeps safety at the forefront, night fishing can be enjoyable and offer great fishing, the release states.
