ST. GEORGE — A man accused of involvement in the shooting death of 17-year-old KayLee Dutton in January has been partially bound over for trial.

During a preliminary hearing held Friday morning in Cedar City, 5th District Judge Meb Anderson ordered that defendant Matthew Sorber-Petrie, 23, be bound over on six of 14 charges and said he would decide later on the remaining eight counts.

The counts in question are all first-degree felonies: one count of murder and seven counts of felony discharge of a firearm causing bodily injury.

"I am taking those matters under advisement as they require accomplice liability," Anderson said at the conclusion of the 90-minute hearing.
