SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - A teenager has been found guilty of manslaughter in connection to a 2024 shooting.
Anthony Brown Jr., 15, was convicted of the slaying on Aug. 29 in Caddo’s Juvenile Court.
In Aug. 2024, investigators say a group of juveniles, including Brown, taunted and attacked 35-year-old Troy Ducote with rocks. They then shot him in the back when he ran away.
Ducote was found dead by his neighbors. One of the neighbors testified at the trial that he saw Brown fire a dun in Ducote’s direction.
Brown was 14 at the time of the shooting and couldn’t be transferred at the discretion of the district attorney under Louisiana law for prosecution as an adult.
