ARLINGTON, Va. — This isn't a typical animal rescue.

Arlington firefighters were dispatched to a home after receiving a call of a bird stuck behind a dishwasher on Sunday. According to Chester the toucan's social media, Chester fell into the toilet while his owner, Maria Stagliano, was cleaning.

"He plopped in. He freaked out. I freaked out, I picked him up, scooped him, like brought him into the sink and started rinsing him off to make sure he was clean," said Stagliano.

Even though the toilet was clean, Stagliano still wanted to make sure Chester had a proper bath. She went to wash Chester off, but Chester had other plans as he's not a big fan of "forced baths."

"Next thing I know, I'm like, where the heck did Chester go? He disappeared into thin air," said Stagliano.
