WASHINGTON — Police are investigating two separate shootings that left three people wounded in D.C. on Labor Day.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the first shooting was reported around 4:15 p.m. in the 2300 block of 14th Street, NE.
When officers arrived, they found a man had been shot. He was awake and breathing when help reached him. First responders took the man to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
An hour later, police were called to the 1700 block of Mississippi Ave., SE, for reports of a second shooting. Police say two women were wounded in the shooting.
Both women were conscious and breathing when they were taken to area hospitals for help. Both are expected to survive.
Police have not released any information regarding the gunmen in either shoot
