MICHIGAN, USA — The meteorological summer season has come to a close!
June 1 marks the first day of the season, extending through the end of August. Meteorological fall begins on September 1 and extends through the end of November.
Most of this summer was dry across West Michigan, with moderate drought in place for at least some of the area since July 8, especially in Ottawa, Allegan and Kent counties.
Severe drought plagued the Holland area for three weeks in August.
Holland has seen the worst of the drought in West Michigan for months, carrying the “driest summer” title throughout much of the season.
