SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- In celebration of Labor Day, the Springfield Central Labor Council, in partnership with local labor organizations, is hosting its annual community picnic in Fassnight Park.

The picnic starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. There will be free food, drinks, live music, games and activities for kids and a car show.

President of the local Teamsters Chapter 245, Jeremy Manley, says donations are encouraged. Any money given today goes towards United Way Ozarks Region, helping them continue their work in the community.

In years past, the picnic has included a parade, and while that isn't the case this year, there is still a lot to do at the picnic.
