Florida State football freshman Ethan Pritchard was shot and hospitalized late Sunday night while visiting family in Havana, Florida.

A source close to FSU confirmed to the Tallahassee Democrat that Pritchard was brought to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and underwent surgery last night.

In a statement released by FSU football on Monday morning, Pritchard was said to be in "critical but stable" condition and is currently in the intensive care unit.

"The Pritchard family is thankful for the support from so many people, as well as the care from first responders and medical professionals, and asks that their privacy be respected at this time," the statement reads.

At his weekly press conference, FSU Football Coach Mike Norvell said the team was sending thoughts and prayers to Pritchard
