COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Makenna Webster already sticks out among Ohio State athletes as a two-sport star. But she will now own a place in the Buckeyes' field hockey record books.
Webster scored a program record six goals on Sunday in a dominant 9-3 win for No. 13 Ohio State over Kent State in Columbus. The graduate senior from St. Louis scored a hat-trick in the second period, two in the third, and one last goal in the fourth period.
The forward has started the new season on fire with her six-goal performance coming after a four-goal game in the season opener at Ball State on Friday.
Webster has played both field and ice hockey for the Buckeyes and helped the team to the 2024 national title. Her performances on both land and ice earned her the Buckeyes' athlete of the year award in 202
