MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The last days of summer are winding down, but traffic is ramping up as travelers hit the roads and take to the skies to make their way home.

Hundreds of travelers, bobbing and weaving through the Memphis International Airport on Monday morning, scurried to and from terminals, avoiding afternoon and early evening congestion.

Mike Crawford flew from Nevada to Dallas, Texas, then to Memphis before heading to visit his daughter at the University of Mississippi.

“Drove to Oxford, an hour and twenty minutes. It was all good, then I drove back to the airport this morning and got a speeding ticket, as I mentioned. 72 in a 70, so I have a little bad takes in my mouth about Mississippi,” Crawford said.
