(WKBN) - For many children, classes have already started for the new school year. For others, it will begin this week. If you haven't done it in a while, you may want to update your child's vaccination records to be sure they're up-to-date.
Earlier this year, we saw a significant outbreak of measles that occurred in communities where many kids had not been fully vaccinated.
"So we just saw -- you know, of course -- the measles outbreak in Texas and in other states across the country. Children were harmed by these diseases that we don't really think about anymore, and vaccination is absolutely the best way to keep your child healthy and safe," said Dr. Jill Haltigan, with Mercy Health.
