The flash flood risk has dropped from slight to marginal, now at a minimum 5% chance compared to Sunday. However, don’t let that fool you—the heavy rainfall has left soils saturated, increasing flood risks even with lower rainfall amounts.
Some areas were hit hard: Brays Bayou and Lawndale saw 7.12 inches, Gulf Freeway at South Loop recorded 6.16 inches, and Lewis Creek got 4.17 inches.
Monday’s focus remains on radar and Futuretrack as we monitor thunderstorm chances, especially in areas with already waterlogged soil, which could amplify flooding concerns.
