LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Robert Telles, the former Clark County official accused of killing Las Vegas journalist Jeff German, has filed new documents in his appeal to the Supreme Court.

The appeal, which was initially filed in November 2024, points to the exclusion of one key witness, former Seattle Police Lieutenant David T. Sweeney. Telles claimed that his testimony would have bolstered his defense argument that he was framed for the murder. He would also point out “numerous omissions and misrepresentations” in a search warrant.

The appeal also highlights his claims of “conflicting media accounts” about a possibly deadlocked jury. Telles claimed Judge Michelle Leavitt failed to notify the defense and provide instructions to the court.
