Middlesbrough have signed veteran Scottish goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin after allowing Tom Glover to leave on a free.
In a deadline day move that takes Boro ’s incoming business to ten new signings, McLaughlin signs for the club after leaving Swansea City at the end of last season. He’s been training with Boro for the last six weeks in the hope of earning a contract at the Riverside.
Initially it appeared that Seny Dieng would be the keeper to leave Boro on deadline day, but Boro were unable to agree a deal with QPR for the Senegal international, and, as things stand, he now looks set to stay at the club and compete with McLaughlin and Sol Brynn for the spot in goal.
