Middlesbrough have bolstered their midfield options with the loan signing of Alan Browne from Sunderland.
The 30-year-old midfielder arrives from Wearside with plenty of Championship experience, as well as a promotion to the Premier League on his CV with Sunderland last term. That promotion pushed him down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light, however, after a busy summer on Wearside, and Boro have moved to add to their options in the middle of the park.
The arrival of Browne comes on transfer deadline day, as Boro secured a League One loan move for young prospect Law McCabe. He joined Plymouth Argyle for the remainder of the season where it’s hoped the 19-year-old can compete to gain more experience.
