Police are investigating a possible hate crime after a swastika was spray-painted on the door of a Jewish religious supply store in Encino.

The vandalism was reported around 8:30 p.m. on Friday at the Mitzvahland Judaica shop on the 16700 block of Ventura Boulevard.

Surveillance video posted on the store's Instagram page shows someone walking in front of the shop before stopping to spray paint something on the building. The video shows a yellow swastika was left on the lower portion of a glass door.

Based on the type of graffiti, arriving officers took a report of vandalism involving a hate crime, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson confirmed to KTLA.

An investigation is underway into the incident.
