MADISON (WKOW) -- Workers joined together Monday to protest "the billionaire takeover of our government."
The event at the State Capitol was a part of a nationwide day of action by MayDayStrong.
Those gathered criticized legislators, saying they were all for sale. "They are strolling through their version of our farmers market," said Grassroots secretary Sheila Plotkin. "When they're done shopping, close your eyes, you will be able to see it all, no apples or green onions. But there is an impressive display of elected officials, cabinet members, judges -- supreme and otherwise, and yes, right there, the president of the United States, all for sale to the highest bidder."
Plotkin claimed that billionaires had their pick of legislators.
