Eleven shots were fired during a downtown shooting that sent one person to hospital, video reviewed by The Free Press shows, leaving nearby residents unnerved by the latest case of gunfire in the city.

“Evidence of a firearm being discharged” was found in the area of John and Richmond streets after “multiple reports” of possible gunfire at about 3 a.m. Sunday, police said. One person was dropped off at hospital with serious injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.

London police credited the Ontario Provincial Police with stopping a vehicle at an undisclosed location outside the city. Six people remained in custody as of Sunday evening while police said they were searching for another person in connection with the shooting.
