HOWELL COUNTY, Mo. -- The Howell County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) arrested a man in an overnight pursuit across the county on Monday, Sept. 1.

According to Sheriff Matt Roberts, in a social media post, the suspect fled deputies on State Route K from West Plains at approximately 2 a.m. The pursuit continued into Pottersville and Caulfield before the suspect drove back to West Plains.

Sheriff Roberts says he was able to deploy stop sticks on U.S. Highway 160 near Hocomo Industries, which deflated the vehicle's tires and forced it to stop in a ditch near Bobcat of West Plains.

The man tried to flee from the scene on foot, but deputies were able to quickly put him into custody after a short pursuit and a struggle.
