A New London police cruiser was struck by a motorcycle while responding to a call for service at Ocean Beach Park on Sunday night.

The incident occurred in the area of Neptune Avenue and Park Street at about 10:13 p.m., according to the New London Police Department .

The operator of the motorcycle was suffering from suspected serious injuries and was transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment, police said.

The New London Police Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and is conducting the ongoing investigation.
