BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – For the holiday, there’s typically a lot of outdoor activities and food, but what there doesn’t have to be is illness.
Proper food preparation techniques are critical to enjoying a meal, as the following days can prove rather upsetting due to things like cross-contamination by mishandling raw meats or not sanitizing all your surfaces before and after cooking.
Camille Hiller, an environmentalist with WCHD, said people should always try to wear gloves and wash their hands in between touching raw meat, as well as be mindful of temperature.
