Micah Parsons is doing everything he can to be on the field for his new team.
The star pass rusher was acquired by the Green Bay Packers in a blockbuster trade with the Dallas Cowboys last week, but a lingering back injury has left his availability for Week 1 up in the air.
But, according to reports from ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Parsons and the Packers have devised a plan for his recovery.
According to Schefter and Rapoport, Parsons is dealing with an L4/L5 facet joint sprain in his back and might need an epidural to manage the pain during Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions. He will also continue to participate in physical therapy for the injury.
Parsons did pass a physical as part of the trade and participated in practice with the Packers on Monday.
