As children begin a new school year, as a parent, you will be reminded about the importance of mental health and self-esteem. Teachers, counselors, and principals will talk about these issues. I know; I taught middle school for thirty-one plus years. The two affect your children, but, based on my observations, children and adolescents reared on farms appear to have fewer issues with mental health and self-esteem. No, I am not a trained child psychologist, nor am I an expert in these important fields of study. I am simply sharing my opinion as a former teacher and as a parent.
