CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- The Cherokee County coroner released the identities Monday of the people who died from a crash at Indian Mountain ATV Park on Saturday.

According to county agencies, nine people were in a side-by-side Polaris RZER when it collided with another RZP, flipped and struck a tree. Coroner Paul McDonald identified the driver of the ATV as 34-year-old Marcus Ragland. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Passenger Ashley Brooke Hawkins, 31, was transported to UAB Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Ragland and Hawkins were from Rome, Georgia.

Seven of the occupants were children ages 1 through 12. They were injured and taken to hospitals. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the wreck.
