An elderly woman was found dead with apparent dog bites near Hard Rock Stadium; police are searching for the animals and their owner.

An investigation is underway in Miami Gardens, Florida, after an elderly woman was found dead, reportedly mauled by one or more dogs on Monday morning.

According to the Miami Gardens Police Department, officers responded to a call at approximately 7:40 a.m. in the area of Northwest 196th Terrace off of 14th Court, near Hard Rock Stadium. Upon arrival, they discovered an unresponsive woman lying on the ground next to a trailer. She was suffering from what appeared to be severe dog bites.

Paramedics at the scene pronounced the woman dead. Reports from crews on the ground noted a significant amount of blood in a nearby field, suggesting a violent attack.
