HUNTINGTON, Texas (KTRE) - The City of Huntington has issued a boil water notice due to low water pressure from a water main break.

According to the city’s website, water pressure in the city’s water system has dropped to an unsafe level and all citizens should boil water prior to consumption.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled for two minutes and allowed to cool before use.

In lieu of boiling, bottled water may also be used for human consumption purposes.

When boiling is no longer required the city will release a second notice rescending the order.
