HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Hands On Hartford distributed food to people experiencing food insecurity, housing insecurity, or homelessness on Monday.

The nonprofit organization gave out meals which included barbecue chicken, potato salad, cornbread and brownies.

Miss Connecticut Teen 2025 Daviana Plaza was proud to be one of the volunteers handing out free meals for this event.

“There are so many ways you can help out your community, and this is a big way you can do it by volunteering,” Plaza said. “This is a great organization. If you are planning or looking to volunteer, I think you should come here.”

Hands On Hartford hosts meals on most major holidays and sees as many as 500 people at an event.
