Two people have been rushed to hospital after a man was found with a gunshot wound following a major collision in Melbourne’s north.
Emergency services responded at about 9.30pm on Monday following reports a car had collided with a truck near the Hume Freeway exit/entry ramp and Cooper Street, Epping.
One of the occupants of the car, a 23-year-old man, was found to have “serious injuries consistent with gunshot wounds”.
An 18-year-old woman who was also in the car at the time of the crash was found to have life-threatening injuries consistent with the collision.
Both individuals were rushed to hospital.
The driver of the truck was not injured in the incident and police do not believe he had any involvement in the events leading to the 23-year-old’s gunshot wounds.
