PHILADELPHIA — The most notable takeaway from Eagles practice on Monday was the absence of right guard Landon Dickerson .

Dickerson was not seen during the media portion of practice. During warmups, backup guard Brett Toth started in Dickerson’s spot.

After practice, the Eagles announced that Dickerson was out with a back injury. Dickerson was already in danger of missing Week 1 after having surgery on his knee last month. A back injury could set him back more.

Known for his toughness, Dickerson has played through injuries in past years and could power through again to start this season. His status for Thursday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys will become clear over the next two days.
