In the final game of the regular season, the Kane County Cougars cruised to their third-straight win with a 5-1 victory over the Chicago Dogs on Monday at Northwestern Medicine Field. The Cougars took three of the four games in the series.
The Cougars (49-51) grabbed a 3-0 lead in the second inning, taking advantage of miscues by the Dogs (50-49). The first run scored when a pitch got past the catcher. Andy Armstrong singled in a run and Zane Spinn drove in another with a sacrifice fly.
