JACKSON, Mich. (WILX) - From establishing the 40-hour work week to improving workplace safety, the American Labor Movement made it possible.
People from across the Jackson community celebrated those efforts on Monday at the very first Jackson Labor Day Community Rally.
“Labor Day is about the people, and protecting the people, making sure we all have the right to live,” said rally organizer Alex Scott.
Scott pulled the event together in a matter of weeks, wanting to give people the opportunity to celebrate and speak their minds about the importance of the labor movement.
