NEWTOWN, Conn. (WFSB) - Hundreds of people lined Main Street in Newtown Monday morning for the town’s annual Labor Day parade, a long-standing tradition that continues to bring the community together year after year.
This year’s theme, “Pets on Parade,” featured plenty of four-legged friends walking alongside floats, fire trucks, and marching bands.
Among those in attendance was Governor Ned Lamont, who waved to residents along the route and participated in the celebration.
Families waved flags, cheered on participants, and collected candy as the procession moved through town.
The parade has become a deeply rooted tradition in Newtown, with many residents returning year after year, some for decades.
