EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, La. (WAFB) - Pieces of equipment worth thousands of dollars are still missing after being stolen from BREC facilities, an audit found.
A report about the audit was released by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s office on Monday, September 1. The audit was conducted by an independent auditor.
The missing equipment includes mowers, edgers, trimmers, gas, and bolt cutters totaling $12,191 that were taken from Greenwood Community Park, the audit report stated. It added that a mower valued at $16,298 was also taken from the Dumas Memorial Golf Course.
The audit was for the fiscal year that ended on December 31, 2023. However, officials with the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s office said that as of Monday, September 1, the taken equipment was still missing.
