TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WAFB) - A tank at Smitty’s Supply in Tangipahoa Parish had a blowout Monday afternoon, September 1.
According to the EPA, the damaged tank overpressurized, causing its roof to burst. There were no injuries or other damage reported, but crews will keep a close eye on other tanks to prevent the same thing from happening again.
The incident involving the damaged tank happened as response efforts continue at Smitty’s following a major explosion and fire on Friday, August 22.
