LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The history of Labor Day and why it’s celebrated is rife with riots and protests. On Monday, protesters took to the streets across the U.S. and Lincoln.

The steady rain didn’t stop them from lining downtown O Street for the “Workers Over Billionaires’ Protest”.

The protest was organized by 50501, a national organization with local organizers in Lincoln setting up this event.

The people attending say the influence of billionaires and corporations is bleeding into U.S. Politics. And while the event was mainly about workers’ rights, the event served as a space for people to voice their concerns with the Trump Administration.
