LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Flash flooding is impacting creeks in Lancaster and Saunders counties on Monday.

According to Grant Anderson, Saunders County Emergency Manager, Monday’s flooding is not expected to be life-threatening for anyone in the area.

The Wahoo Creek is forecasted to crest 17 feet above average overnight, but Anderson doesn’t expect much damage to property. Much of those flood waters are expected to be seen passing by Ithaca.

Anderson said the flooding pales in comparison to the flooding Wahoo saw last year, and it’s the same flooding he expects to see once or twice a year. They have been putting barricades up on some flooded rural roads, but not every single flooded road is barricaded

Anderson advises drivers to not drive through flood waters.
