WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - Americans were expected to fit in one last summer road trip today, and with that the gas pumps stayed busy.
According to AAA, the Watertown average is $3.16, only a cent up on the State average. This time last year, the average for New York was $3.51.
One traveler passing through the North country reminds folks that although prices may seem high, they could always be worse.
“You know it’s a little bit higher, but the cost of living is a little bit higher up here too,” said Labor Day Traveler Mike Noonan. “Now we just came from Canada like I said, and Canadian gas prices are out of this world. Are they, what are they up there?” $1.59 a liter we were paying.“
