A cyclist died on Sunday in Portland’s Washington Park after crashing when he tried to ride between two boulders, police said on Monday.
The cyclist, who has not been identified, was not wearing a helmet, according to police.
Officers responded to the crash around 6:30 p.m. near Southwest Sacajawea Boulevard and Lewis and Clark Circle.
Police said a preliminary investigation shows the cyclist was riding a BMX-style bike with a group of cyclists when the crash happened.
