UTAH COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) — A fire is affecting the roadway on US-6, causing significant delays.

According to the Utah Department of Transportation, a fire broke out near the US-6 and US-89 Junction in Utah County, prompting road closures. Currently, UDOT says that both directions are closed on US-6 near mile marker 190, causing significant delays.

In addition to the fire, many travelers are currently using US-6 as they travel for Labor Day activities, which may contribute to the delays.

UDOT says travelers should, "expect heavy delays in the area and use alternate route". They have not yet confirmed when the roadway will reopen.
