BILLINGS, Mont. – Multiple trade unions gathered at Rose Park for a Labor Day barbecue, celebrating the holiday with yard games and grilled food. This annual event, organized by Teamsters Local 190, aims to give back to the community.

Jim Soumas, secretary and treasurer of Teamsters Local 190, emphasized the significance of this gathering. "Labor Day is derived from all the efforts that unions have done for the last hundred and some odd years," he said. "The fact that people came together years ago and fought for those rights that are now afforded to them is why we're here."

Soumas noted the strong support from city leadership and citizens for unions. Currently, Teamsters Local 190 is on their fifth week on the picket line at Boise Cascade.
