NORMAN — Following middling returns in the run game during OU football's season-opener, coach Brent Venables expects running back Jaydn Ott to play a larger role moving forward.

The Sooners hope Ott, the transfer from Cal, will be a key player this season. Ott rushed for 2,597 yards and 24 touchdowns in three seasons with the Golden Bears.
