SCOTT COUNTY, Tenn. — Knox Horner, a Chattanooga-based developer, said that construction of his proposed landfill in North Oneida, which would be Scott County's second, will not begin in September as he had previously stated.
Horner cited engineering and regulatory issues for the delay.
That appears to put both the 700-acre proposal and a rail spur in the Winfield area, which Horner proposed in conjunction with the landfill, into limbo several months after the announcements startled neighbors across Scott County.
Horner said he wasn't concerned with the delays.
"We have a whole lot bigger and sustainable plans to bring to the region, not just Scott County," he said.
