EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Powerball jackpot has grown to a staggering $1.1 billion.
That’s after no one correctly matched all six numbers on Saturday night.
The next drawing happened Monday night. The numbers are 8, 23, 25, 40, 53 and a Powerball of 5.
It was the fifth-largest prize in the history of the game.
Powerball tickets are two dollars each and are sold in 45 states including Kentucky, where one gas station manager noticed an increase in ticket sales.
“Even people who don’t usually come in. Even our dailies who come and get them, when the hear what the amount is at people, will say ‘okay yeah I will go ahead and grab me one ‘cause you just never know.’ But yeah, it’s been an increase in sales for sure,” says Trocadero manager Brennan Vanallen.
