BOSSIER CITY, La - While football may dominate the season, one Benton High School student is hitting the mark in a very different arena.
Savannah O’Donohue, an 11th grader with a relentless drive, is gaining national and international attention in the sport of archery, representing Team USA and winning gold on the world stage.
O’Donohue's journey began in the third grade when archery was introduced during physical education class. What started with a simple piece of yarn quickly became a lifelong passion.
“I took it home to my mom and said, ‘Look what I can do,’” O’Donohue shared. “She saw my form with the yarn, and the next thing I know — it’s in the trash.”
Her mother, April O’Donohue, remembers that moment saying it was then when she recognized her daughter's love for the sport. Tho
