SHREVEPORT, La. - Tuesday is the final day to apply for the interim District 8 vacancy on the Caddo Parish School Board. Letters will be accepted until noon and must be hand delivered to the district's offices at 1961 Midway Avenue or by email to dfeibel@caddoschools.org .

The letter of interest should include the applicant's date of birth, address and how long they have lived in District 8. Letters also should include a short statement regarding why the applicant desires to serve as an interim board member.

Once selected, the interim board member will serve until a special election is held on April 18. Qualifying for the election will take place Jan. 14-16.

The move comes after Christine Tharpe announced her resignation last month.
