LINCOLN, Calif. —

At a glance, the small-statured Vicky Zhao may not look like a professional boxer, but when she steps into the ring and begins to throw punches, her two fists are like two sticks of dynamite.

"I would say I am definitely a fighter at heart," Zhao said. "I'm a good boxer with good boxing skills, but most importantly, I have the heart and the will to win."

During her early years, Zhao grew up watching and wanting to be like a television Kung Fu fighter, and that burning flame continued to stay hot, even while she pursued two degrees at UC Davis.

"I was in the right place at the right time," Zhao said, beginning her boxing career as a freshman at the university.

From there, she earned an amateur boxing record with 22 wins and no loses, but as a professional boxer, Zhao
